NLGRB Licensed Companies 2026: Who Is on Uganda's List and What Comes Off a Win

The NLGRB licensed companies 2026 list is the register that decides whether a Ugandan bookmaker answers to the Lotteries and Gaming Act this year.

It is read beside the 15% withholding on net winnings that the Income Tax (Amendment) Act 2026 brought into effect on 1 July 2026, deducted by each company on the list at payout.

What the 2026 list contains

The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board publishes one file a year naming every company licensed to run betting, gaming or lotteries in Uganda, with its licence number.

The 2026 file replaces the 2025 one. A brand that printed a 2025 number and is missing from the 2026 download has let its licence lapse or lost it.

Of the ranked brands it lists 1xBet, as Advanced Gaming Limited with NLGRB-BM-26-0206, and 22Bet, as Arcadia Hospitality Limited with NLGRB-BM-26-0221. Local brands such as betPawa, ForteBet, Betika, AbaBet, BongoBongo, BangBet and Gal Sport Betting print their own 2026 numbers.

The search is by company name, because the brand name rarely appears on the file.

Reading the NLGRB licensed companies 2026 list with the tax

A company on that list withholds 15% of net winnings at payout and remits it to the Uganda Revenue Authority. A USh 20,000 stake at 3.00 returns USh 60,000, of which USh 40,000 is winnings. USh 6,000 comes off and USh 54,000 reaches the mobile money account.

The rate was already 15% before July. The 2026 amendment restated the regime and took effect with the new financial year, as the URA notice on the effective date records. The company's own gaming tax, 30% of gross gaming revenue, sits inside the price and touches no payout.

A 2.00 at a licensee therefore pays like 1.85. The weekly board on the Uganda home page shows which licensee prices a Vipers or KCCA match highest before that deduction.

Age, complaints and self-exclusion behind the list

A company on the list takes customers aged 25 and over, the highest legal age among the markets on this site, and verifies it at sign-up. It answers to the Board's complaints form and its self-exclusion register, and one self-exclusion covers every company on the file at once.

An offshore brand missing from the list takes Ugandan sign-ups under a Curaçao or similar licence, withholds nothing and answers to no Ugandan desk. Among the ranked brands that group includes Melbet, BetWinner, Paripesa, 888Starz, Linebet and 1win for Uganda.

The deposit stays the punter's in both cases; the complaint route is what the list buys.

What changed on the Uganda home page

The ranking prints the 2026 number beside 22Bet and 1xBet, the offshore licence beside the rest, and the 15% in the tax section. All of it was corrected when the 2026 file was published. The local bookmakers table lists the licensees for checking, without links.

A Ugandan punter who wants the Board behind the account picks from the list and gives up 15% of net winnings; one who wants the shilling offers of the offshore brands keeps the full win and loses the desk. The weekly board shows the price in both cases.

The two questions below are the ones readers have sent most often about the list and the deduction.

Questions about the 2026 list

Where is the 2026 list published?

On the NLGRB website as a download titled list of licensed companies for the year 2026, under the Board's licensing pages. Each entry gives the company name and its licence number, and the Board replaces the file each year.

Does the 15% apply to the stake?

No. The withholding is on net winnings, the payout less the stake, deducted by the licensed company at payout under the Income Tax (Amendment) Act 2026 and remitted to the Uganda Revenue Authority. A USh 10,000 stake returning USh 50,000 is taxed on USh 40,000.
